چکیده

The present work aims to reveal the dispersoids evolution and valuable role of Zr on elevated-temperature creep resistance Al–7Si-0.3Mg alloy. At 300°C 25 MPa, Al–7Si-0.3Mg-0.15Zr alloy exhibits more than double decrement in minimum rate, 263 h increment time-to-fracture compared Zr-free cast These effects were owe formation novel nanobelt-like Si2Zr rectangle-like (Al, Si)3–Zr during solutionising at 560°C for 20 h. Si atoms could substitute Al sites form stable L12-Al2Si1Zr structure. thermally semi-coherent/coherent with matrix, which impeded movement dislocations deformation 300°C. It demonstrated that superior (300°C) achieved Al–7Si-0.3Mg-0.16Zr was attributed introduction Zr-containing dispersoids.

Improving aging and creep resistance in a dilute Al–Sc alloy by microalloying with Si, Zr and Er

Nanosized precipitates in an Al–0.06Sc at.% alloy containing various microalloying additions were studied, with the goal of developing cost-effective aluminum alloys for high-temperature applications, using micro-hardness, electrical conductivity and atom-probe tomography measurements. Substituting 0.005 at.% Er for the more expensive Sc maintains high ambient-temperature strength, and dramatic...

Cast Aluminum Alloy for High Temperature Applications

Originally developed by NASA as high performance piston alloys to meet U.S. automotive legislation requiring low exhaust emission, the novel NASA alloys now offer dramatic increase in tensile strength for many other applications at elevated temperatures from 450°F (232°C) to about 750°F (400°C). It is an ideal low cost material for cast automotive components such as pistons, cylinder heads, cyl...

Surface characteristics and castability of Zr-14Nb alloy dental castings.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate mechanical properties, surface characteristics and castability of Zr-14Nb dental castings. The mean 0.2% proof and ultimate tensile strengths of Zr-14Nb were approximately 68% and 76% those of Ti-6Al-7Nb, respectively, while they were comparable to Co-29Cr-6Mo. Elongation of Zr-14Nb was the highest of all alloys tested. The hardened reaction layer was f...

Enhancing Wear Resistance of Squeeze Cast AC2A Aluminum Alloy

The effect of squeeze casting process parameters on wear behavior of AC2A aluminium alloy was primarily investigated in this experimental study. Five process parameters, namely squeeze pressure, pouring temperature, die temperature, die material and compression time, each at four levels were chosen and sixteen experimental runs based on L16 orthogonal array were performed. From analysis of vari...

Temperature Effect on Creep and Fracture Behaviors of Nano-SiO2-composite and AlSi12Cu3Ni2MgFe Aluminum Alloy

In the presented article, the temperature effect was studied on creep properties and fracture behaviors of AlSi12Cu3Ni2MgFe aluminum-silicon alloys, unreinforced and reinforced with SiO2 nano-particles. For such objective, standard specimens were fabricated by gravity casting and stir-casting methods, for aluminum alloys and nano-composites, respectively. Then, force-controlled creep...
